Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) Score Calculator

Please note that this calculator is applicable only to persons awaiting liver transplantation who are over the age of 12 years!

The MELD score = 10 * [(0.957 * LN(SCR in mg/dL)) + (0.378 * LN(total bilirubin in mg/dL)) + (1.12 * LN(INR)) + 0.643)]

where:

  • LN indicates the natural logarithm.
  • SCR = serum creatinine (mg/dL).
  • INR = international normalized ratio.

    After entering your serum creatinine, total bilirubin, and INR, click the Calculate button. Your MELD Score will then be computed and displayed in the "Computed MELD Score =" text box.

    Enter your Serum Creatinine (SCR) (mg/dL): (minimum value = 1; maximum value = 4)

    (For patients who have had dialysis twice within the last week, the creatinine value should be set to 4)

    Enter your Total Bilirubin (mg/dL): (minimum value = 1)

    Enter your INR: (minimum value = 1)

    Computed MELD Score = (minimum value = 6; maximum value = 40)
